Evento is open to any secondary school student New Zealand wide. This includes home school and correspondence based students.

In the first term of every year, a workshop is held to announce the sections and distribute entry information in the form of a handbook. The dates for this are advertised through the Evento Facebook page and posters at all local high schools.

Following the workshop, the student handbook is available online by request. Entry forms are found in the student handbook and must be emailed to evento@evento.org.nz

Each year there are 4 different sections and up to 20 spaces in each section. If you would like to contact us regarding an entry, please send an email to the above address.

Prizes include:
1st, 2nd and 3rd for each section
A Performance Prize for each section that goes to the model.
A Recycling Award for each section for the best use of recycled materials.
2 Textile Awards; 1 for construction and 1 for innovative use of textiles
A Year 9 award
Hair and makeup: 2 awards

Design scholarship - $1500
Overall Runner up Award - A Bernette sewing machine
Supreme Award - Tickets for 2 to WOW, Accommodation and breakfast for 2 nights at the Ibis in Wellington, AND Bernette sewing machine!

Important Dates

Dress Rehearsal
Friday 28th July:
Full dress rehearsal with a student only audience.
This show is open to any school age student (primary, intermediate, secondary) Note, this does NOT include tertiary students.
The dress rehearsal does not include prize-giving or programmes.
Doors open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
Tickets cost $5 for students and are door sales only.
Adults supervising a group of 4 or more students may buy a $20 ticket

Awards Night Show
Saturday 29th July:
Doors open at 6pm for a 7.30 show start.
Seating is general admission or Premium reserved
General admission: $35 Adult, $17 Student
Premium Seats: $45. Includes reserved seat and goody bag.
